Can you tell us a little about your business?

Lightyear Leadership develops happy and fulfilled humans, and empowers individuals, communities and companies to rapidly and radically transform themselves and the world. We design personal development courses and leadership trainings that put your future in your hands.

What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

I am technically the Chief Experience Officer at Lightyear, which in a small family owned company means I do a bit of everything. I am in charge of our product design and development roadmap, leading and structuring community through our Lightyear Champions Program, answering all explorer questions that come into our email and chat, as well as working on executing our vision for providing low-cost access to world-class personal development.

How did your business get started?

Lightyear Leadership was founded by Susanne Conrad who has worked as a leadership and communication advisor for more than 30 years, helping people improve their interpersonal and business skills - and create happier, more intentional lives in the process. She founded Lightyear Leadership to create and implement communication programs for progressive companies.

Susanne was instrumental in creating the renowned leadership development culture at lululemon since it opened its first US stores in 2003. She served on the Board of Directors, taking the company public, then continued as the Director of Possibility for 13 years. Lightyear became one of the company's most foundational and beloved programs for over 10,000 employees.

Our online platform was created to make Susanne’s work accessible and affordable to anyone anywhere, offering Susanne’s 30 years of experience and unique self-development curriculum to individuals across the globe.

What have been some key factors in your growth?

Lightyear Leadership is a grassroots and community-based organization. All of our growth has come from word-of-mouth referral from person to person. We are committed to a new way of business and being where our community spurs growth organically.

We have also forged strong relationships with founders of organizations and companies who used Lightyear to grow their business and missions - helping each other to grow into new possibilities.

What do you use MoonClerk for?

We use Moonclerk to offer payment plans to our explorers who need a more accessible and affordable payment option for our year-long Lightyear Coach Training and other course offerings.

In addition, we have started to use MoonClerk to offer workshops to our broader community who are not members of our online platform,

Did you use another payment system before MoonClerk?

We use Stripe in conjunction with Moonclerk and started to use Moonclerk because it had a more user-friendly and clear way to set up payment plans for our offerings than just using Stripe itself. Using just Stripe by itself, it was difficult to set up payment plans and took  our development time that would have been better used elsewhere.

What made you finally decide to use MoonClerk?

We loved that we didn’t have to use our development hours to to be able to offer customizable payment plans to our explores. 

What was your experience when getting started with MoonClerk?

It was straightforward and easy. I was able to get the basics of what I needed set up quickly.

What do you like most about MoonClerk?

With the ability to offer payment plans, we have been able to provide an accessible payment option to over 100 of our customers, with 328 successful payments so far since starting with MoonClerk.

The payment plan option has allowed us to generate sustainable revenue while staying true to the mission of to provide low-cost access to world-class personal development and leadership training.
